How to Prep Your Guest Room

How to prepare for summer guests is popular topic of discussion around this time of the year. Here at Mackenzie & Company we encourage going that extra mile to make sure your guests feel welcome; this also makes it more likely that they will be good company in your home. 

A few tips from our studio to make your guests feel special and wanted are: 

1. Fresh crisp clean linens are a must

2. Extra blankets or throws

3. Pad of paper and pen by bedside table

4. A bath decanter and bottled water 

5. Plenty of fresh bath towels

6. Glass canisters with a generous amount of all the essential toiletries (toothbrush, disposable razor, face wipes, shower cap, etc)

       - Side note: Have plenty of shampoo and conditioner 

7. Nice hand soaps still in the wrapper 

8. Scented candles and matches 

9. Luggage rack 

10. Have an empty dresser and free closet space with a generous amount of free hangers

11. Stationary with important details of the home such as the wifi password and heating instructions, etc. 

12. Good coffee table books, novels, and magazines 

13. Fresh flowers for scent and appeal 

14. A visitor book for guests to write comments 

15. Have good bedside lighting 

16. Tylenol or advil and other basic medications
